Districts
From Boston Neighborhood Map
Many people refer to various areas in downtown Boston as districts (e.g. financial district). I find this an irritating convention for a variety of reasons:
- Districts are incredibly tiny.
- Districts are hard to define.
- Districts often overlap both each other and existing neighborhoods.
- Districts may exist in neighborhoods in Boston other than downtown.
- Districts have names related to crafts or functions that are no longer carried out in them.
Therefore, I have left them off the Boston Neighborhoods Google Map. I have, however, created pages for them in this wiki so that interested persons can discuss and argue over them. Have fun.
